Fred D. Thompson is again dipping his toes into the world of politics. He was appointed to usher the President's Supreme Court nominee through the confirmation process.
Once a Senator, Mr. Thompson is recently best known as an actor on NBC's "Law and Order". IMDB has some great trivia about Mr. Thompson. Of particular interest, IMDB reports that Mr. Thompson was the first serving US Senator to take a regular acting job.
